Tree House Point, Washington

Hello, hope your week is off to a good start!

My weekend was… unbelievable! While I was singing “It’s Oh So Quiet” at a small birthday karaoke gathering, my friends brought an amazing three layer birthday cake up to the stage en masse.  Between a verse and the chorus I blew out the candles. It was so perfectly choreographed, Coppola could not have orchestrated it better. Turns out BC and Emmy had been plotting  since seeing my tweet requesting a three layer cake with  beeswax birthday candles!

Em (master baker and certified cake decorator) made the incredibly delicious chocolate cake! I feel like a lucky girl to have friends and family who would go to such great lengths to make me feel special!

Perhaps if I keep putting the things I love out into the universe (i.e. the internet), my dreams will continue coming true! I’m going to try it now:

I want to sleep in a tree house!

Tree House Point is a getaway, retreat or meeting place near Issaquah, Washington, committed to sustainable living. It’s owned and operated by Pete Nelson, a tree house builder, and his wife Judy, who’s the tree house experience hostess and chef.

Not into heights? During the summer months, they set up a miner’s tent for an “Out of Africa” experience.

I imagine this is the stage for the summer “house concerts” by local and national artists.

If the table setting is an indication, one eats quite well (farm to table fresh) at Tree House Point.

Wow, how cool would it be if I just magically woke up in one of these tomorrow?!

PS. All kidding aside, I’m so grateful to Em and BC for coordinating such a spectacular 30th birthday celebration. And for everyone who took the time to send birthday wishes in person or online. You guys are the best!

    • Thanks so much Pete! That contest sounds like fun and the perfect excuse to get out in the park one of these fall weekends. If I lived closer, I would totally you up on a tour offer or attend one of those concerts – I’m enchanted! Hope to meet you one day and stay in one of your fabulous treehouses!
