Last week VandM published a design trend list for 2011-2012. I thought it would be fun to illustrate the differences between where we’ve been in home design and where the trends are going. Luckily (or conveniently) most point toward an abundance of antiques and vintage furnishings in home design.

I thought it interesting that the rustic modern design trend that seems so prevalent now is predicted to fall by the wayside. Also, I think the whole gothic, dark ages concept hasn’t really been executed in a livable way yet. It’ll be interesting to see how it can be pared down for the everyday home owner.
